SERVICES & RATES
We ask that all clients entering Ascent Psychology review the COVID-19 information at the bottom of this page prior to attending each session and contact the clinic to have any questions answered in full.
Initial Consultation and Psychotherapy: $235 per 60-minute session. This includes 50 minutes of Psychotherapy and 10 minute wrap-up (payment, rebooking, etc.). This rate is recommended by the British Columbia Psychological Association (BCPA) for Registered Psychologists as of March 22, 2023.
The first session is an initial consultation during which information is gathered. Recommendations for follow-up (e.g., treatment approach and duration or direction to other appropriate services) are made at the end of this session.
An initial consultation precedes all Assessment and Psychotherapy services; however, it is also available to community members looking for clarification and recommendations on other community services or self-help references that may be helpful given their presenting issue. Consultation services are also available for Health Care Providers seeking to improve their understanding of mental health issues in order to better serve their patients or clients.
Assessment fee ranges are listed on the assessment page.
Please contact us directly to obtain a fee schedule for psycho-legal and court-related services.
Insurance
Psychological services are not covered by Medical Services Plan (MSP) in BC; however, services are often covered in full or in part by your extended health insurance or employee benefits plan. Please check your coverage carefully before booking. A receipt will be provided following session payment with the information needed when submitting for insurance reimbursement.
We can offer direct billing through Pacific Blue Cross, Green Shield, Medavie Blue Cross, and providers billed through Telus Health (Johnson Group, Canada Life, Desjardins, etc.) all pending successful preauthorization. Telus Health direct billing does NOT include Manulife, Johnson Inc., and Sun Life Financial as they do not yet allow direct billing by CPBC Registered Psychologists; however, you may submit directly to these insurers for reimbursement for Psychological Services covered under your extended health plan.
Payment Methods
Cash, cheque, major credit cards, debit, and interac e-transfer are accepted payment methods.
Cancellation Policy
An appointment that is missed or cancelled at the last minute prevents another individual from receiving needed services during that time. When you must cancel, please provide 24 hours notice. If you do not provide 24 hours notice when you cancel, you will be charged a full session fee. Exceptions include the event of serious or contagious illness or emergency (this includes childcare emergencies).
