PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT
Psychological Assessments are comprehensive psychodiagnostic assessments that allow for precise diagnostic clarification as well as insight in cognitive and learning strengths and weaknesses. They allow for complex differential diagnosis when it is needed. These assessments cover learning, neurodevelopmental, behavioural, personality, mood, emotional, and cognitive processes and their application to relevant domains of functioning. They also assist individuals and organizations in understanding and formally documenting a neurodevelopmental or mental health condition with a complex history or presentation. They are often used for educational disability eligibility applications and accommodations, insurance disability applications, government funding applications, and/or treatment/rehabilitation planning.
Format: Semi-structured clinical interviews are completed with individuals (and/or caregivers of children/youth). Standardized questionnaire measures are issued and several hours of direct testing may be scheduled if warranted. The length of the testing session is contingent upon the referral question and the results of the initial interview. Often the collection of collateral information is necessary from other members of the individual's support system (e.g., from medical and health professional, teachers, etc.). Test data is then scored and interpreted. A complete report is prepared that delineates all test results, diagnoses, and detailed recommendations including additional identified barriers, needed supports, and detailed treatment recommendations. A feedback session is also conducted to review the results of the assessment. Direct testing may be broken into two sessions if clinically warranted.
These assessments generally range in cost $4000-$4500.00 and vary depending on the complexity of your psychological history and condition.
