Dr. Katie Kryski, Registered Psychologist

- Dr. Kryski provides intervention/counselling, consultation, and assessment services to children, adolescents, adults and couples presenting with a range of mental health needs including but not limited to trauma, anxiety, obsessive compulsive thoughts and/or behaviours, depression and other mood issues, behaviour and /or attentions problems (e.g., ADHD), stress and/or adjustment problems, parenting consultation, relationship struggles, learning issues, somatic symptoms, coping with pain and/or chronic illness, coping with brain/head injury, sexual problems, sleep problems, etc. Please contact for a brief and free telephone consultation.
Following completion of an undergraduate degree in Psychology (Honours) at the University of Calgary, Dr. Kryski completed her Masters (M.Sc.) and Doctoral (Ph.D.) degrees in Clinical Psychology at the University of Western Ontario. She studied Developmental Psychopathology and contributed to this field through her research on the biological/genetic and contextual correlates of biological sensitivity to stress. Her clinical training and previous employment include work across a wide range of settings including hospitals (inpatient and outpatient), residential facilities, community clinics, and school settings. Dr. Melanie Parkin, Registered Psychologist

Dr. Melanie Parkin provides services to children, adolescents and adults with a range of issues including but not limited to relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, upsetting thoughts, trauma, problems with eating, and substance use. Dr. Parkin provides assessment services for learning or neurodevelopment disorders such as ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Dr. Parkin has worked in mental health settings for over 10 years including community agencies, the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health, the University of Guelph, and private practice. In 2010, after completing her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Guelph, she became registered as a Psychologist in Ontario. Dr. Parkin recently moved back
to Revelstoke, the town in which she grew up, and is now registered as a psychologist in British Columbia.
Dr. Parkin’s approach to therapy is integrative and evidence based. She has training in various modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy. She prioritizes a
collaborative and trusting relationship as the foundation on which change strategies are best implemented. Her practice is also trauma informed, meaning that she understands the crucial ways in which trauma affects a developing individual and considers this in treatment planning.
Choosing to seek therapy is a courageous act. Dr. Parkin views her role as carefully listening and asking questions that help clients gain awareness into the patterns that are keeping them stuck and helping them to develop new patterns of behaviour that allow for more meaningful and joyful lives.
